Origin: In german there is no differance between Kraemer, Kremer and kramer (with an umlout,two dots over the "A") the name changed because of typewriters that could not put the two dots over the "A". The actual spelling was Kramer with the Umlout.( Two dots over the "A",E (is pronounce as a long "A"or AE in german is then pronounced as a long "A" also. Kramer with out the two dots is pronounced something like a short O. Kraemer in german means a merchant or store owner, were as Kramer (without the umlout is a junk merchant ( the on the used to ride up and down the street asking people to through down their unwanted things and then he would sell them as used items.
