Jonas P. Ackerman(b.3/29/1890) which is my father's father. Jonas's father was George H. Ackerman and mother was the former Emma McDuffie of Brockton, MA. I was able to trace Jonas to Omaha, NE were he registered for WWI. Jonas sister Edna Arlene married Eldon Sherman Clapp and had 3 children: Fred, George, Hazel. She died in Brockton. The Wielgosz and Wanex families originated in Poland.

John Aukerman was born 14 Nov 1806 in (PA?) and died 29 March 1868. He is buried in the South Pleasant Cemetery, Wabash Co., Indiana. He married on 29 May 1828, Mary Elizabeth PICKARD, born 7 June 1804 and died 15 June 1889. John and Mary were married in Cumberland County,Pennslyvania in 1828 but then moved to Ohio by 1835. They might have lived around Wayne Co., or Akron, but moved to Indiana later on. In Indiana, the family has been found in Kosciusko, Fulton, Wabash, and Marshall counties between 1860 - 1900. William Aukerman, my gg grandfather, moved to Nebraska, and his descendants can now be found in Washington, Oregon, California, Nebraska, and Missouri. Children: 1. My family came from Ireland to Brooklyn, NY when my Great Grandfather Teenan was 15. His father John and mother Mallici[?]. Teenan enlisted in the Union Army. After discharge he married Esther Fry and had 5 children.Teenan Wallace Pinkerton Jr.1872-1970, Marion Pinkerton Marshall, Alexander Pinkerton, Jane Pinkerton Graham,Esther Pinkerton. Teenan Jr married Florence A Symons and had 2 children Teenan 1913-1933, And Florence Grace Pinkerton Anderson. Ackerman- married Jonas Symons, 2 children Florence Symons Pinkerton and Grace Symons who married Daniel Rooney. All of the family listed were from the Brooklyn and Long Island area.

I have traced the family back to 1515, Ololus Custer, Kaldenkirchen, Germany. The Custer family apparently starts there. No one has come up with a Custer ancester older than that. John and Susannah Custer descendants. They were the first Mercer County (Custer) settlers. John and Susannah's son Peter. Peter had a son named Joseph. Joseph had a son named James S. James S. had a son named Albert. Albert had a son named Elba. Elba had a son named Rolland. And I am Rolland's daughter.
