McDANIEL / PAUL: Originally from Maryland, went to Richland Co., OH area, then northern IN; John McDANIEL b.1775/76 MD, wife Margaret (Engle/Engel? b. 1778 PA d. 1863 IN), son John R. (b. 1811 MD d. 1885 IN), Reuben (b. 1817 MD d. 1898 IN), William (b. 1820 OH d. 1900 IN). PAUL: Originally from Pennsylvania, then went to Richland Co., Ohio area: Philip PAUL (wife Elizabeth Mosher). RYDER / RIDER: Jacob RYDER (RIDER) (wife Martha VINE; originally from Pennsylvania, then Akron, Ohio & St. Joseph Co.,Indiana: Daughter Mary Alice married Jesse McDaniel. HERSHEY / LATTA / BAKER: George HERSHEY & wife Joanna LATTA (daughter Susan S. Hershey); originally New York then Steuben Co.,Indiana. Their grandson was General Lewis B. Hershey of the Selective Service. Moses Hershey BAKER (son of Susan Hershey & ? BAKER of Steuben Co., Indiana). HUPP / KNUPP: Michael HUPP originally from Virginia then moved to St. Joseph Co., IN (mother was Elizabeth KNUPP), son Charles m. Pameila WILLBARGER, whose parents were Samuel and Amanda (DUNHAM). Amanda's parents were Amos DUNHAM & Laura Matilda GUTHRIE, both of CT. HAMILTON / BACON: Samuel HAMILTON (b1790-d1843 in Lancaster, Ohio); children were Augustus, Mabelle, Margaret who married a KEEDY (John Henry ?) BACON William-b1809, David-b1756). The REUBEN MCDANIEL and JACOB RYDER (RIDER) (m. Martha VINE) families were in Richland & Akron Co.'s Ohio in 1850, then moved to St. Joseph Co., Indiana. REUBEN McDANIEL had the following children: John, James, Jesse O. McDaniel (b1846, m. Mary Alice Ryder in 1871), Reuben Elwood, Wesley, George (b1857), Elizabeth (b1851), Charles, Edward (b1867, m. Whilhemina Beaty and had children Leslie b.1898, Blanche b.1892, Marie b.1897 and Delmont b.1896) ,Ida, Priscilla, Harriet, Frank (b1865), and Martha Flora. In 1850 Richland Co., Ohio, Reuben & Susan's next door neighbors were John & Margaret McDaniel (both in 70's). They all were Coopers by trade. These are probably his parents. By 1860, Margaret was in Kosciusko Co., Indiana living with son Jesse. She died in 1863 in Kosciusko Co. Indiana, in home of son John. Jesse McDaniel and Sarah KIRBY (alleged sister) were living in Richland Co. Wisconsin in 1870. Another sister may have been Rachel EWERS. |
