Barcom from Wisconsin and Canada, Meier later changed to Meyer from Wisconsin decended from John Meier in Germany, Johnston from the West Monroe, Oswego County New York area and the Sheboygan County Wisconsin area and Zettel from Wisconsin decended from Sebastian Zettel of Germany, the area of Bavaria. The name Barcom stems from the French name Berthiuame and is spelled by some branches as Barcomb, Barcome and several others. Zettel is sometimes spelled Zettl. Sebastian, Maria and their three children settled in Leroy, Wisconsin. Son Joseph later moved to West Bend, Washington, Wisconsin while daughter Maria, Teresa and son Xaver remained in the Leroy area . Joseph's son Albert settled in Baron, Wisconsin while the rest of his children remained in the West Bend area. Johan Meier settled in Washington County Wisconsin and his children settled primarily in the West Bend and Milwaukee, Wisconsin area. My grandfather's name was Domenic Petta and he was married to Shirley Zimmerman probably around 1937. They had 2 daughters, Rosalie and Carol (my mom). My great-grandfather & grandmother's name were Joseph (Giuseppe?) Petta and Rosina Peduto Petta & they came to New York from Italy around the very early part of the 1900's. They had 6 children, Filmena, Stella, Domenic, Louis, James, Anna. My great-grandfather & grandmother Samuel Zimmerman & Rose Weintraub Zimmerman had 3 children: Frances, Shirley & Morris. James L. and Amanda J. Austin family from West-Central Indiana. James was born 1840 in either Illinois or Indiana. Amanda was born between 1845 and 1847 in Illinois. James first shows up in the 1870 census for Clark County Illinois, and is also listed in the Civil War Records as having fought for 6th Infantry Division, Indiana Calvary. Amanda first shows up in the 1850 census for Clark County, Illinois. Their children were Anna, Cecila, Ella, John, Emma, Nellie, Linda, Andrew, Wesley, Abner, and Albert. James passed away in 1933 and Amanda in 1927, both in Terre Haute, Indiana. They are buried in New Hope Cemetary, Sugar Creek Township, Vigo County, IN. Amanda's parents were John and Nancy Walden. Their children were James, Margaret, Amanda, William, Charles, John, Nancy, and David. Frank and Ethel Lambert (nee Linscott family) of Phillips and Yuma County, CO. Frank was born in 1880 to Adolph and Mary Lambert (nee Prince). Ethel was born in 1882. They were married on June 19, 1900 in Hastings, NE. Frank passed away on August 15, 1967 and Ethel passed away in 1946. They are buried in Haxtun, Phillips County, CO.
