As a matter of fact, several of the coats-of-arms awarded to K?mmels in public positions in Kassel, Hessen state, Germany, had the caraway plant or a figure holding a caraway plant on them.%0aHowever, the word Kimmel and surname Kimmel evolved separately. Professor Hermann K?mmell's report in the Deutsches Geschlechterbuch (Vol. 66, which offers the lineage for J.
