It is believed, but not documented, that George may have initially settled in Greene County and may have married Polly BALES in 1836 in Monroe County, before moving to Jackson County sometime after 1840. It is further believed that he had brothers Henry, Edward/Edmond and Samuel who settled in Brown County about 1835.
