BOLOMEY family from Switzerland. Valentin Bolomey was born in Canton de Vaud, Switzerland, February 13, 1826. He settled in Virginia where he married Martha Ann Adams. He later moved to Missouri and died April 7, 1906, in Louisiana, Missouri. HOLLIDAY family. James Holliday was married to Mary Cornell Holliday and lived at Louisiana, Missouri. There were six children: Ernest, Ruben, Alice, Anna, Francis Marion and Odie. James Holliday may have been from Virginia or Kentucky or possibly Tennessee. Francis Marion Holliday was born March 18, 1866. ancestors of JOSEPH WARREN BEAL, born in Tyler, Texas, June 15, 1861, and married to Esther Walling. There were six children: James Howard, Nettie, John Maurice, Joe Riley, Fred and Flossie. |

He also had a Sister Bassie Davis She is my Great Grand Aunt Richard & Mary - they called her Bambi had only one child my Grand Father Samuel Davis aka (Samuel Jofar) Born 1883,in Richmond, Virginia. He ran away from home and was able to pass as white; He joined the Merchant Marine and lived in Brazil with a Family named Jofar. After he returned to America and rejoined his family he told them that Davis was a Slave name and his free name was Jofar. He would never use that name again he was not a slave to any Man, His father did not like this and there were many family arguments about it. Samuel Jofar married Ella Pierman my Grandmother she was Born 1884 in Lynchburg, Virginia the Jofar & Davis family arrived in Phoenix, Arizona about 1915 Just before the Birth of my Mother Wyona Jofar-Beasley. Samuel Jofar Became one of the 1st Black Doctor's in the state of Arizona He was a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine His Office was located near 11th Street & Washington in Phoenix, Arizona He was also a Barber And I still can remember my 1st hair cut as a child. Richard & Mary Davis are buried at Forrest Lawn Cemetery in Phoenix, Arizona Samuel & Ella Jofar are buried at Greenwood Cemetery in Phoenix, Arizona The Children of Samuel & Ella Jofar are: Wyona L. JOHN CHARLES BAYLOR son of Fredick Baylor and Marian Shepard. After running away from home at the early age of 15, John Charles stayed with a cousin living in Texas - There he met and married Maia Concepcion de Jesus Portugal. John was descibed as a six foot, muscular man with reddish blond hair and deep blue eyes. The were married in the Catholic Church in Eagle Pass on Friday, December 24, 1888. They had three children, James (called Jim) Wilson Baylor, born in 1888, Belem born on October 13, 1893 and Stella born on September 13, 1895. All three children were born in Eagle Pass, TX. The name Barcom stems from the French name Berthiuame and is spelled by some branches as Barcomb, Barcome and several others. Zettel is sometimes spelled Zettl.
