My search starts with the marriage of Wyatt Parker Lochabay from Georgia and Delilah Caroline Davidson of Alabama, in Perry, county Alabama on September 19, 1847 and Robert Elijah Beasley born on April 14,1863, and Mary Elizabeth O'Rear born April 9,1866, she died before 1917,also Emerson Cooper Austin, born August 19,1853, in Kentucky and Lucinda Marillo Thompson, November 1, 1856 in Flatonia,Texas.They were married there on May 27,1875, also Eddie A. John Balfour and his family migrated from the Brockville, Ontario, Canada area to live in Ogdensburg, NY. At the time, his family was regarded as 1 of the 3 largest families in Ogdensbsurg. His son, Robert, married Eilzabeth McKim when she was in her late 30s. In time, they went their separate ways. Elizabeth took her children and moved to Watertown while Robert returned to Canada and even visited Scotland. |

Our families were among the first colonists of both the East and West coasts of the United States. The Huckses arrived at Jamestown, Virginia in 1632 and settled across the river in Surry. John Hucks (Hux) married Jane, the daughter of Thomas Gray, who was one of the first Jamestown colonists. My line of Huckses eventually found their way to Conway, South Carolina. \r\n\r\nThe Aceves family is closely linked to John Gilroy, namesake of the town of Gilroy, CA. He was originally named Cameron and was born in Scotland. His wife's grandfather, Jose Francisco Ortega, was a member of the Portola Expedition and history acknowledges him as the discoverer of San Francisco Bay. \r\n\r\n |
