Barcom from Wisconsin and Canada, Meier later changed to Meyer from Wisconsin decended from John Meier in Germany, Johnston from the West Monroe, Oswego County New York area and the Sheboygan County Wisconsin area and Zettel from Wisconsin decended from Sebastian Zettel of Germany, the area of Bavaria. The name Barcom stems from the French name Berthiuame and is spelled by some branches as Barcomb, Barcome and several others. Zettel is sometimes spelled Zettl. Sebastian, Maria and their three children settled in Leroy, Wisconsin. Son Joseph later moved to West Bend, Washington, Wisconsin while daughter Maria, Teresa and son Xaver remained in the Leroy area . Joseph's son Albert settled in Baron, Wisconsin while the rest of his children remained in the West Bend area. Johan Meier settled in Washington County Wisconsin and his children settled primarily in the West Bend and Milwaukee, Wisconsin area. Samuel TRUSCOTT - b.1606 Samuel RAIL - b. 1782 Robert BALL - b. 1771 George Lewis Truscott and his wife Hannah Hendy Rail and their family came to Canada as Barr Colonists in 1903. my grandfather William Ball b.July 15, 1835 in Paris, Ont. He married Mary Ann Midgley b.July 6, 1846 in Paris. Both lived in or near Paris, Ontario. She died March 24, 1882. He died December 25, 1912 in Chatham, Ont. His father was Henry Ball - wife Elizabeth Small. I have traced them to Lambourne Berkshire England. His father was Robert, mother Sarah. The Jarcho-Yarcha-Turoff-Turow-Bermant families from Slutsk
The origins of this family start in Ancient Judea and stretch to Medieval Spain and Southern France and the town of Lunel where the Ha-Yarchi families lived until late 1300's- early 1400's. The family then moved North and East into the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in what became the province of Minsk Gubernia in present day Belarus. The tows of Baranovitch, Slutsk ,Turov and Kletsk and the surrounding towns were where they lived during the 1700's and 1800's. The earliest named ancestor was Zimel Yarcha(1750-1800). His descendents spread to other areas of Russia such as Pinsk, Minsk, Yekatrinoslav and Yousovka before leaving for Israel,England,Belgium,Argentina and most to the USA. My mother's family the Richardsons and Reveys have resided in Mommouth County NJ USA since the 1700's. Her grandmother immigrated from Ireland, being the first child born in the New World in 1850's. The father, Howard Thorn was originally from Barbados and had gone to England and then to Ireland where he met and married Margaret McBride. They had nine children.
