Origin: The Hackbarth surname has it's origins in Germany. More specifically, it seems to have originated from what was the Pomeranian region of Germany/Prussia. Origin: The Frohocks originally came from the are which is around present day Germany or Poland. They then came to England, were they stayed for several hundred years, until they began to come to America, in the 1700's. Two main families came over. One settled in Maine and New england, and the other came to North or south Carolina and dispersed from there.
