George Bayer (great grandfather) was a locksmith. He was born May 17,1822 in Kirrweiler, Germany and died in NYC in 1892. He immirgated in 1847 and settled in NYC around 1852. He was married to Matilda Merrick. She was born in Germany about 1829. George's parents were George Bayer, born June 02, 1796, in Reischsthal, Germany and Anna Margaretha Bittig, born November 07, 1795 in Kirrweiler, Germany. Anna Margaretha's mother was Magdalena Bittig. George's parents were George Bayer and Elisabetha Catharina Ball. Christian Bayer (grandfather) was born December, 1860 in NYC. He was a toolmaker and died December 13, 1929 in the Bronx, NYC. He married Wilhelmina Magdalena Schmidt, born in NYC November 16, 1863 and died December 04, 1918 in NYC George Schmidt (great grandfather) had a bakery at 831 1st Ave in NYC He was born Nov. 27, 1838 in Germany and died May 2, 1906. He immirgated to NYC between 1850 & 1860. He was married to Magdeline Schell born in Germany January 25, 1841 and died June 06, 1904. George's parents were Jacob Schmidt and Margaret Haas. Magdeline's father was John Schell born 1792 in Germany and her mother was Margaret born 1808 aso in Germany. Georg Heinrich Melchor Stutz (great grandfather) was born August 30, 1803 in Adelsheim, Germany and died there May 27, 1861 he was married to Sophie Bueschelberger born September 26, 1805 also in Adelsheim, Germany. Georg's parents were Georg Stutz and Sophia Wurz. Sophie Bueschelberger's parents were Lorenz Cristian Bischelberger and Margaretha Elisabeth Sophia Goetziner. Ernst George Stutz (grandfather)was born in September 26, 1847 in Adelsheim, Germany and immirgated to NYC in 1871. He was a butcher and died in the Bronx, NY March 08, 1929. He married Mary Kast who was born in Wutoshingen, Baden, Germany in 1860 and died in NYC October 22, 1895. Rudolph Kast (great grandfather) he was a teacher and was born March 22, 1824 in Ettlingen, Germany and died in NYC January 15, 1899. He immigrated about 1869 and was married to Friederika Rauenbuhler, born in Rauenberg, Wiesloch, Baden, Germany, March 05, 1828. They were married in Germany and she immirgated from Germany to NYC with six of their children in 1873. She died in NYC March 14, 1908. Her father was Ignatz son of Joanne Rauenb?hler and Marie Anna Tr?ck. Ignatz was born December 14, 1787 in Gaggenau, Baden, Germany. Friederika's mother was Marie Teressa Bartelewetz daughter of Joannaus Antonius Vitus Bartelmetz born January 18, 1751 and Barbara Gartner born March 12, 1764 in Karlsruhe, Baden, Germany. Rudolph's parents were Mathias Kast & Katharina Dillman. They were married in Ettlingen November 06, 1820. Mathias was the son of Mathias Kast and Maria Catharina Duttenhofer, he was born in Ettlingen, Baden, Germany April 17, 1793 and died September 24, 1866. Katharina was the daughter of Franciscus Xaverius Thomas Dillman and Maria Anna Valentina Gruber, she as born in Ettlingen, Baden, Germany, November 29, 1800. and died August 05, 1871. Jokob Willhelm Bauerle and Margarete Horber Bauerle, my second great grandparents on my father?s side, were farmers in Bavaria. Our last name, Bauerle, means little farmer. My great grandfather, Friedrick Willhelm Bauerle, was born in the Black Forest of Bavaria in Germany. at the age of 22 he came to America in 1928 and settled in Long Island, New York (on a sponsorship through his sister later changed his name to fritz Bauerle and became a mechanic at a company in New Jersey). he met his wife, Anna Meier Reiter, who was born in Berlin, Germany, and came to America when she was 18 in 1924 on a sponsorship of a friend. she worked as a nanny unit, she married fritz, and changed her name to Anna Bauerle. then, together they settled Mahwah, New Jersey, and raised their only child named Frederick John Bauerle, my father. My father is a first generation German/American. On my mothers side, Park Hershey (her father) was born into a Mennonite family by Herbert Hershey, and Mayme Buchwalter Hershey, in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. His parents were also farmers. When Park became of age, he chose not to join the Mennonite Church. The Hershey's claim to fame is that we have the same ancestors as Milton Snaveley Hershey, the founder of the Hershey Candy. Milton?s third great grandfather, and my grandpa's third great grandfather, were two of the brothers who came to the new world from Switzerland and settled in Southeastern Pennsylvania, hence the name Swiss Chocolate. My grandfather married Rebecca Jane Hauck, who too was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. She was raised by Ithamar Aaron Hauck and Bertha Lulu Dunlap Hauck which were also farmers. Together my grandparents, my grandparents had three children, one being my mother Diane Sue. They owned a shoe repair store in new Holland, Pennsylvania. This store catered to the Mennonite and Amish community and specialized in corrective footwear for people with injuries and deformities to their legs. |
