My grandparents and great-parents emigrated from Poland and Sweden around 1900. The Apted family I am descended of has been traced back to James Apted, in Surrey England,in about 1821. James' son Henry was thought to have come to the US through Canada. Henry moved to Canada in about 1870, and into the U.S. at about the turn of the century. The Apted family then settled in the Pacific Northwest. John Carcelli, an Italian native, moved to America from France about 30 years after the Apteds arrived in Canada. In about 1900 the Carcelli family entered America. John Carcelli's family originaly came from Parma, Berceto, Italy. John's son Victor later went on to marry Iole Barni. The Barni's also came from Tuscany. Iole's Father Giuseppi was born in Pistoia, Likewise, Iole's mother Angelina Flori and her family also came from Pistoia Italy.
