Albert Rhett Word's parents listed as William and Elizabeth(Brown) Word. William's parents being John and Elizabeth(Nail)Word,he was born in Lawrence District,S. Carolina. He moved to Georgia in 1833. His father was (granfather to A.R.Word) the son of Samuel Word, who is listed as being born in Ireland. Alta Clifton(Tumlin)Word's parents being that of Virgil Megis Tumlin and Pauline VanDusen(Butts)Tumlin.Virgil Tumlin is picked up in the 2rd generation,(son of) George Washington and Racheal(Wade)Tumlin, grandson of John and Mary Tumlin. |

He was the son of Mark or Markus Brooks, b. abt 1720 of Virginia. He married Fannie Harris of Granville Co., NC and died abt. 1821 at Ephraim's Creek, Chatham Co., NC.\r\n\r\nMarkus was said to be the son of John Brooks Sr., b. abt. 1690 in England where he married Susan, also of England.
