Origin of Fara, Meaning of Fara
Origin: From what I've heard, the name Farabaugh didn't exist until fairly recently when a couple brothers moved from Germany to Pennsylvania sometime between 1850 and 1857. The two brothers, that I know of, that moved to Cambria Co, PA were Augustin and Michael. Before they called themselves Farabaugh's, they called themselves Fehrenbacher's.

Origin of Fara, Meaning of Fara
Origin: The origin of the Italian surname Faraco is possibly Greek from Farakos, which in turn is derived from the Greek word (Fara) meaning family or race. Other sources suggest that Faraco is Jewish, from the Hebrew word (Farach) meaning flower or blossom. The latin version of this name is Faracus.
