The BICKEL family of Massenbach, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany. Johannes Pauli Bickel, born July 18, 1618, died, in Massenbach, on June 26, 1706. His descendant Georg Wilhelm Bickel, born August 28, 1802, landed in New York, NY, on the Barque Paoli, on July 5, 1838. The family settled in Hocking County, OH. Johannis MENGES (son of Leonhardt Menges & Elisabethe Schell), born June 24, 1674, Eberbach, Baden, Germany, immigrated to New York in 1709, died sometime after 1728 in Orange Co., NY. Christian MENGES/MINGUS (son of Johannes Menges) born January 8, 1721, Orange Co., NY. Hieronimus MINGUS (son of Christian Menges/Mingus) born October 28, 1753, Orange Co., NY, died about September 1828, Erie Co., OH. Hieronimus was a Revolutionary War veteran. Moses MINGUS, (son of Christian Menges/Mingus) born November 1759, in Orange Co., NY, died May 3, 1836, in Morgan Co., OH. Moses was a Revolutionary War veteran. Peter PRUDDEN born 1601, Kings Walden, Hertfordshire, England, immigrated to Boston, MA, July 26, 1637, died July 6, 1656, Milford, CT. William VICKERS' sons: James VICKERS, born January 15, 1784, in VA, and died September 28, 1821, in Columbus, OH. Also, Elias Vickers, born 1782, in VA and died after 1850 in Fountain Co., IN.
