Anderson/Gates Family Home Page
the Gates's of New Jersey. They changed their name from Gaeta to Gates when imigrating from Italy in early 1900's. I have names but no dates for Joseph Gaeta who married Jennie Fantine (in Italy), and gave birth to Anthony Gaeta Sr (d. 1958). Anthony, (still in Italy), married Theresa Oliviera(d. 1928) (dau of Ignoto and Grazia Oliviero) They had many children (four in Italy, the rest in U.S.) including my Mother, Ann Anderson (nee Gates), and her sisters Jennie, Mamie, and Theresa (Tess) and her brothers Nicholas (Nick), Elmer, Albert and Anthony (Tony). and the Anderson's of New Jersey. Charles Anderson Married Ellen Hardy (later Donolon) and had two children: Charles James Anderson and Willian E (Bill) Anderson. Charles James had two wives, each with many children. With Catherine Shaefer he had Harry, Helen(Nell)Anderson (later Wills), Jean (later Voltz) and Charlie. He then married my grandmother, Catherine Costello (d. 1931) and had my father, John Charles Sr, and his two brother's: Joseph and Robert (Bob) and his two sisters: Catherine (Cass)(later McGill) and Marie (later Dudevoir).
