The Jarcho-Yarcha-Turoff-Turow-Bermant families from Slutsk
The origins of this family start in Ancient Judea and stretch to Medieval Spain and Southern France and the town of Lunel where the Ha-Yarchi families lived until late 1300's- early 1400's. The family then moved North and East into the Grand Duchy of Lithuania in what became the province of Minsk Gubernia in present day Belarus. The tows of Baranovitch, Slutsk ,Turov and Kletsk and the surrounding towns were where they lived during the 1700's and 1800's. The earliest named ancestor was Zimel Yarcha(1750-1800). His descendents spread to other areas of Russia such as Pinsk, Minsk, Yekatrinoslav and Yousovka before leaving for Israel,England,Belgium,Argentina and most to the USA. My grandparents on both sides of my family were imigrants from Germany before marriage. My maternal grandparents were settlers to nebraska with their families. My paternal grandparents families settled here after marriage (I believe). Grandfather Bach's father's name I believe to be Edwin or Edward. Edwin was born in Germany in the black forrest region. The mother was reported to be Pennsylviana Dutch which is German. My Grandmother Bach's maiden name is McAdams. She was adopted by her aunt when she was little. Both of her parents were killed in an auto accident in Missouri I believe. The maternal grandparents were from Germany. Grandfather's name was Robert Haushahn and Grandmother's name is Doris Ramer. Janna L Babcock - InterneTree my father's family, the Martins were from Lewiston, Maine. His mother's maiden name was Dulac. Her mother's maiden name was Arnoldy. Their families came from France to Quebec and Acadia in the 1600's and 1700's. my mother's family, surname Kvernvik. They came from Norway in 1906. Her mother came from Norway around that time also, my grandmother's surname was Mathisen. My husband's family is also from Maine. The Babcock's settled in Bangor. His paternal great grandmother was a decendent of Abraham Somes who settled in Somesville on Mt. Desert Island, Maine, in the late 1700's. My husband's mother's family, the Ernst's came from Brooklyn, New York, and Switzerland. Sullivan Burgess Family Tree
This page holds my family tree, which will be updated frequently. If you see someone you know, let me know. If you have information on someone, please share it with me. I have a lot of information on the Laughlin, Davy , Glendenning and Thomson lines, but the Sullivan, Burgess, Farrer, Harman, Trivett and Purchase lines need much more work. Please note that the Davy, Thomson and Glendenning pages are very large and takes time to load.
I am most interested in finding information on James Sullivan who immigrated to Canada in 1912 and left behind their families. I know it is too much to find my grandfather side of the family. (do you know how many James Sullivan's there are?) If you have any information on a James Sullivan born in England on Sept 25 in the 1870's, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!
