Pattersons of New Kent County, Virginia My great-great-great-grandfather, William Harvey Patterson, was born in New Kent County on Feb. 3, 1810. Rebecca Ann Patterson was the mother of William Harvey, she was born on Feb. 23, 1790 and died on Feb 24, 1880. William Harvey Patterson's father was William Sr. William Harvey Patterson served in the House of Delegates, representing Charles City County from 1871-1873. William Harvey's father was the owner of 36 acres of land before the Civil War. William Harvey Patterson was a Minister, he helped to establish the Second Liberty Baptist Church in New Kent County. William Harvey Patterson was married twice, his first wife was Mary Ann Dungey, who was born Jan. 29, 1800, and died Nov. 15, 1848, on March 14,1850 he married Lutilda Baily. William Harvey Patterson had a large number of children and grand children, some of his decendants are still living in New Kent County at this time Meakins/Meekins of New Kent County and York County, Virginia. Claiborne Meakins, born in New Kent County around 1802, he married Parthenia Osborne.
