Dressel, John J./ Riley, James E.
Description: John J. Dressel was married to Louise Burns they met on a ship from Europe. He was German and she was from Scotland. He died 1928 and she died 1929 in Albany, New York. My grandmother was Edna Janet b 11/7/1891 d 11/17/1934. My mother's uncle was John J. Dressel b 1/9/1894 d7/22/1977, He married in his 30's. They also had Lydia Louise d at age 21 and Elizabeth she died at birth. They lived on S. Pearl or Alexander Sts. My great gandfather was 1 of 7 children that came to the USA. They all settled in Buffalo, then John moved to Albany. Why he didnt like the weather. The 6 brothers all had trade skills. John was a Butcher. I know of only 1 brother, Wiilliam, mom called him uncle Bill. I found the name Dressel Bros. & Gerheim in the Buffalo free press. I have looked at almost every free sites I can, and can not get many hits on the name Dressel. I have not found anything at Ellis Inland. Passenger list should show 7 Dressel name. I really hate to buy information. I get to the last page and its you can have it for only 29.99 My mothers father was James E. Riley and her mother was Edna Janet Dressel. Which is another whole story. James E. Riley was b3/15/1888 d 12/25/1970 at Walled Lake, Mi. I feel the Dressel's came to the USA some time before 1891. And James E. Riley Sr. came before 1888, I maybe wrong, my grandfather could have been born in Ireland. His mother was Rose Catherine Rouche (Roach), her mother was a Kipatrick.
