Description: John Thompson ,in my line, shows up in ME in the 1770's married to Margaret but no surname.One of several sons is my grandfather Samuel Thompson [b.about 1808,ME]who marries Mahala[surname unknown].Samuel enlists [at an advanced age -50's] early in the civil war between the states out of Waltham,MA in 1 Mass Cavalry co 'M' and serves in Hilton Head,SC and FL until his term expired but had a co number change and was wounded and discharged to military hospital in New Haven,CT.
His grown sons also served in that conflict. We are trying to find the ladies' lines and John,Samuel [and wives] children, siblings and other info.We have more info to share if you have info to connect possibly.
