ggg gf, James GUNN (born 1770-1775) in possibly NC. He m. Jane/Jinny (possibly MURRIN in Washington Co, Va, 1799). He lived on Pitman Creek in Pulaski Co, KY 1801-1816. Issue included KY-born 1800-1813: Anna, John, Robert, Elizabeth, Amy; and IN-born 1817-1823: Lovicy, Drusilla and Betty Jane b. in Franklin or Fayette Co, Indiana . In 1835 he entered 387 acres of land in Brandywine Twp, Hancock Co, IN. Death and burial of James presumed to be Hancock Co, IN. Wilhelm ANTES emigrated from Germany via The Friendship from Rotterdam and Cowes, England in 1741, to Philadelphia, PA, where he took the oath to the province. He later settled in Frederick Co, MD. He was married to Elizabeth (possibly REINHARD), Anna Maria SCHMIDT, and Maria SHUTTER. Many descendants settled Washington Co, VA under surnames ANDESS, ANDES, ANDERS, ANDIS. Tennessee claims many ANDES descendants. My direct line is through Wilhelm's 9th issue, John ANDERS, b. 1768 in Frederick Co, MD. His son Alexander ANDERS/ANDTES/ANDIS pioneered Brandywine Twp, Hancock Co, IN. Other ANDIS descendants may also be found in southern Indiana.
