Description: John Doyle found in Belmont co., Ohio in 1830
John Doyle and wife are both listed as b. ca 1790-94 with a family of one son b. ca 1814-15, one dau., b. ca 1816-19, one dau., b. ca 1820-24, and one son b. ca 1825-30.
The youngest son is John W. Doyle b. 1828-29 in St. Clairsville, Belmont Co., Ohio, who wed Rebecca Johnston Oct 27, 1850 in Marshall Co., (W.) Virginia.
Rebecca Johnston is the dau. of Sarah Johnston. (Sarah Johnston had another dau., Mary E., who wed Joseph Bookstover. Mary appears to have wed first James Blakemore.)
The Doyle and Blakemore families both moved to Randolph Co., Ill. by 1860. From Ohio Co., Va. marriage records, it would appear that Sarah Johnston is either Sarah Fisher who wed Joseph Johnston in 1819 or Sarah Lindley who wed Benjamin Johnston in 1824.
John Doyle in Belmont Co., Ohio appears to be the same listed in Salem Township, Jefferson Co., Ohio in 1820 with both John Doyle and wife over the age of 26 with one son and one daughter under the age of 10. (John Doyle is possibly related to Benjamin Doyle also found in Salem Twp. in 1820 who was b. ante 1775. Note: there were two Benjamin Doyles in Jefferson Co., Ohio in 1820.)
Also found in Belmont Co., Ohio, marriages are Catherine Doyle who wed John Thompson Aug 22, 1839. (Could she have been a dau. or widow of John Doyle b. ca 1790-94?)
And also the marriage of John Doyle to Mary C. Stephen on Mar 29, 1847
Does anyone know anything about these Doyle's?
