The Beatys and Littles of Ireland and India
BEATY I am researching the BEATY family, originally from Ireland. From family folklore Francis BEATY was born in Tullamore, Ireland in 1757 . Francis and his wife Catherine gave birth to three sons, John, Francis and Henry, probably in Stoke Damerel, Devon, while he served in the Royal Navy. In 1820 Francis and 1821 Henry, joined the Honourable East India Company Army as Cadets in Bengal, India. The elder son of Francis, named Francis Henry BEATY, and his wife Caroline Ophelia (n?e Sheels), had fifteen children all born in India. Five of the sons served in the Indian Police. The Beaty family finally left India in 1948. The cities in India and Pakistan that feature in the family history are Lahore, Jhansie, Karachi, Landour, Mussoorie, Quetta, Rawlpindi and Simla. LITTLE/LYTTLE I am also researching the LITTLE/LYTTLE family from Northern Ireland. In 1839 Andrew LITTLE was born in the Parish of Montiaghs, Lurgan, County Armagh, Northern Ireland, to Thomas and Mary (n?e Wilson) LITTLE. In 1858 he joined the 27th Inniskilling Regiment and sailed to India. He remained in India and retired from the army in 1894. He died in Dehra Dun, India in 1926. He had five children Mary Anne, Thomas Wilson, William John (my grandfather) Edward and Andrew. The surname spelling changed to LYTTLE with the children. The cities in India/Pakistan that feature in the family history are Dehra Dun, Jhansie, Karachi,Lahore, Meerut, North West Province,Peshawar and Simla. The Admire & Goldizen Family Tree
grandfather, Roy Breshears/Brashears met my grandmother at Wadworth Veterans Hospital in Leavenworth Kansas. (Now called Dwight D. Eisenhower Veterans Medical Center) As the story goes, they met while he was a patient of the hospital and fell in love. They were to be married, my grandmother conceived my mother and one afternoon Roy was to go downtown for something and return later that day. He never returned. Later my grandmother heard that Roy had tried to jump a train to get back to his home (where ever that was) and he was killed in the process.\r\n\r\nThe oldest ancestor I have been able to locate on the Goldizen side is Private Johann Phillip Goldeiss/Gouldizen/Goldizen. He was a 'Hessian' Mercenary for service in North America which was sent to the continent to hire additional armies. Johann sailed to American in 1777 as a member of Major von Reitzenstein's company of the Ansbach Regiment which is an indication that he may have been a career soldier. He served briefly in the garrisons at Staten Island and on Manhattan. He then sailed up the Hudson River as a part of a force sent to relieve pressure on General John Burgoyne, who surrendered before the relief arrived. Johann was a member of a small detachment attacked by the AmericaTeresa M (Admire) Shaw |
The Green and Nannie Privett Dale Family of KY and WV
Nannie Privett Dale the oldest child of Alfred and Callie Hounshell Privett. Her family consisted of Robert, Daniel, Ernest, Lucian, Alfred Jr., Nola, Ida, Ethel, Mary. This family were all born and most married in Breahtitt County, Kentucky. \r\n\r\nGreen was the son of Henry Powell and Alice Cannon Dale. His family consisted of Clyde(son of Alice), William, John, Chlara (known as Chloe), and Carolyn (known as Carrie). This family is complete I believe for the 2nd marriage of Henry. Although I am not sure on the 1st marriage the 3rd marriage to Dora Fletcher possibly produced Columbia, Sofa, and Issac. I do believe that Henry's son Columbus (known as Lum) was from his first marriage.\r\n\r\nInterneTree: All-in-One Tree of Robert Levi Privett\r\n\r\nGenealogy Report: Descendants of Robert Levi Privett\r\n\r\nGenealogy Report: Descendants of Henry Powell Dale |
