My Great-Grandfather Charles (Karl) Baschnagel was born in the Grand Duchy of Baden (Germany) in 1850 and came to this country in 1864. He married Anna Schneider in Scranton, PA and together they had 3 children, Margaret, Elizabeth and Charles. They later moved to New York City (Manhattan), NY. My Grandfather Charles married Christina Renner and together they had 3 children, Helen, Arthur and Walter. They later moved to Kingston, NY. My father Walter married Marion Thomas and together they had 2 children, Margaret and Walter. My Great-Grandfather William (Johann Wilhelm) Thomas was born in Wilgersdorf, Prussia in 1824 and came to this country in 1852 with his wife Catherine Kutcher and son, Henry (Heinrich), and settled in Kingston, NY. He and Catherine had 4 children, one of whom was my Grandfather Charles Thomas. My Grandfather Charles Thomas married Isabella Archambault with whom he had 14 children, one of whom was my mother Marion Thomas. My wife's paternal grandparents were John Oliver Smith and Elizabeth Johnson. They resided in Ridgefield Park, Middlesex County, New Jersey in 1910 with four children, one of whom was John Oliver Smith(Jr), her father. Her maternal grandparents were Imre (James) Nemeth and Anna Mesic. They immigrated from Hungary prior to 1915 and were married in Perth Amboy, New Jersey on May 22, 1915, where they resided until their death. They had five children one of whom was her mother, Anna Nemeth.
