He emigrated to the United States where he married Josephine Kochelek in Omaha, Nebraska (about 1907) Josephine was the daughter of John Kochelek who was born Dec 20, 1848 in Polska/Austria. John Kochelek married Mary Komienga (Kuminga) born in June 1854 in Krakow, Galacia, Poland. They were married Nov 15, 1875 in Krakow, Poland. My Grandfather, John Zych/Zach died in Chicago, Illinois in 1938. John Andersen. He married Catherine Zalud. Johns' ancestors came from a town or village 20km from Copenhagen, Denmark. I was told he was one of 4 nrothers who emigrated. They changed their names to see who would find the family fortune. The original name was Jurgesen. Two brothers settled in Chicago, where they were blacksmiths. One went out West to possibly Arizona, where he worked on or owned a ranch. The fourth brother went to Australia Catherine Zalud. She had two sisters, Mary and Josephine. When my Grandfather John Andersen passed away she married a Mr. Likey of Chicago. |
