BAILEY'S IN NEW YORK, IOWA, NEBRASKA, & CALIFORNIA
DANIEL BAILEY (1799-1864) born in New York State, had two sons: His oldest son, EPHRAIM R. BAILEY, (1830-1894) never married and moved to Tama Co, Iowa in 1860 to farm. CHARLES S. BAILEY, (1843-1916) was born in St. Lawrence County, Edwards, New York on 19 July 1843. The Bailey family moved to Tama Co, Iowa around 1856 and settled in the town of Toledo. Charles enlisted into the 10th Iowa Infantry in 1861 and was discharged in 1865. Charles married Margaret E. Fisher (1844-1917) in Toledo, Iowa. They had two children, LEONA A. BAILEY (1867-1922) and FRED A BAILEY, (1870-1953). The family moved to Buffalo Co, Shelton, NE in 1873 to continue farming. FRED BAILEY married MAY E. CALKINS (1868-1898) and moved to Omaha, NE. LEONA BAILEY married NATANIAL A. SMITH (1863-1903), and moved to Dawes Co, Crawford, NE EPHRAIM stayed in Tama Co until the 1890's and died in Shelton NE in 1894. DANIEL BAILEY died in 1864 in Toledo, Iowa at the age of 64 years. DANIEL BAILEY from New York State, (1820 - 1850). He spent at least 20 years in the town of Edwards, N.Y. and remarried a second time around 1840. DANIEL could have had another son and daughter. Tomas A Avila - InterneTree Book: Tomas Alberto Avila My family roots originated in the country of Honduras Central America. The paternal side of my family began migrating to the USA in the 30's and the maternal side in the early 60's. the Avilas originated from Mr. Simeon Avila who was originally from Livingston, Guatemala spreading his roots throuhgout the states of Cortes, Atlantida, Roatan and Colon. My father (Francisco Avila Mena)side are the Avilas which originated in Punta Gorda, Roatan. From the materanal side(Felipa Lopez Green), the Green and Collins branch originated from The Grand Cayman Island, via French Harbour, Roatan Where my mothers roots begin. Both sides of the family uprooted from Roatan to Trujillo, Colon, where my parents met each other and a new generation started.

The Avila-Parocua-Mata Family come from the Mexican State of Michoacan and the small town of Tlazazalca near Zamora and moved into California, Texas, and Illinois. The crossed into the USA or back and forth in about the early 1900's. Frank's Dad was Francisco Mata Parocua, but he called himself Frank Avila. Avila is a family name, but it was not his immediate family name. The Alvarado-Bernal-Prieto Family come from the the Mexican border Juarez, Chiuhuahua and El Paso, Texas into the USA. The also crossed into the USA or back and forth in about the early 1900's. FRank's Mom, Maria Theresa Alvarado's Dad, Merced Alvarado, rode with Pancho Villa. The HOOSTE family came from BELGIUM to the USA around the early 1900's. The KREMPP family came from the border of FRANCE that has switched back and forth from France to Germany. They also came over to the USA around the early 1900's. The Radcliff & Sefton roots seem to come from Ireland and/or the British Islands. The Radcliff Families came over possibly as early as 1700's. Adam Radcliff and his wife Martha Sefton are buried in the Forbis Cemetery in Brownstown, Illinois which is near Vandalia, Illinois.

The AVILA (ABILA) Family New Spain Settlers
Jacob Abila married Mary Martinez on April 16, 1929 and they had two children (Dora and Benjie). Jacob was killed in an auto-train accident in Boone, Colorado about noon on September 20th, 1960. He and the pickup he was driving were struck by a southbound Missouri Pacific freight train. Jacob had two brothers, George and Eloy, and a half brother, Paul (Porfiro) Abila, all of Colorado. Jacob's father was Juan Santos Avila. Juan Santos Avila was born near Redwing, Colorado on March 15, 1869. He was a member of the Famed Pony Express, afterwhich he became a Law Officer. He was also a recipient of a Land Patent via the original Homestead Act of 1862, certified by then President William Howard Taft. Juan Santos father was Lorenzo Avila, born in Taos N.M. on August 24th, 1816. Lorenzo was one of the first Pioneers to settle in Colorado. The Avila's, proudly, have been in Colorado almost 150 years and in this country well over two centuries (253 years), possibly longer. Lorenzo died when Juan Santos was only ten years of age. Subsequently, Juan Santos was raised (not adopted) by a Captain Charles Deus. Deus served in the U.S. Army and rode with the renowned Kit Carson. In his adulthood he (Juan Santos) married twice. His first bride was Maria Antonia Sanchez. They married on January 16th, 1890 and engaged in homesteading, farming, and raising livestock. Their children were Tomas, Lugardo, Porfiro, Eufemia, Rafelita and Carmelita. His wife Antonia passed away in May of 1907, just after the birth of their daughter Rafilita in 1904. Abel Smith, who d. 19 Feb. 1790 and his wife Phebe -----, who d. 8 July 1797 in 84th yr., parents of Esther Smith, b. 18 Nov. 1755, perh. in England, and d. Hoosick, Rensselaer Co., NY 28 Jan. 1849; Esther m. Plainfield CT in 1780 Nathaniel Barnet, b. Preston CT 9 Feb. 1755 to Moses and Sarah (Safford) Barnet; Nathaniel d. Hoosick 8 July 1846. Bacon Hill 12 May 1846; Caleb was enumerated at Queensbury between 1800 and 1820; William Brown was listed next door in 1800.
