The largest group of people with the name of Eaves live in the county of Lancashire in the UK and their name probably originates from a place once called the Fishwick Eves, which was near the city of Preston. The first person to take on the name of Eaves in this area was Thomas d'Ewyas, an Anglo Norman, who became Thomas del Eves, c1350, following acquisition of land bequeathed by his mother.
