Description: Am researching my Hallock lineage. Starting with Rev. William A. Hallock, 1770 Peekskill, NY. Orphaned at age 12, making it impossible to trace his parents. He married Catherine DeGroat in 1790 and they removed to Elizabethtown, ONT in or about 1800. Here he was an early minister of the Wall Street United Church. Their first born is listed as Catherine, 1803. However, in the 1805 census three unknown children are listed; James, Staats and Rebecca. Would like to discover William's parents, and anything else prior to 1900. There are a lot of Hallocks in the Westchester Twp., area, as yet can find no connection with him. Thank you.

I still can not locate my Charles Chambers in the 1850 Census. He is not the Charles living in Subdivision 61 from kentucky. His wife to be was Margaret Keith and she was living with her family (John Keith was head) in Subdivision 61 in 1850 in Knox Co...

Charles Chambers and Margaret Keith were married on 28 Jan 1857 in Knox Co., Indiana and this can be verified in the Index to Marriage Record 1854-1920, Book-E, and page 238. I would be happy to send for a copy of the original if would include any additional information.

Their first child, Margaret Althea Chambers, was born in Dec 1857. I can?t locate my Charles and Margaret in 1860 Census. However, there is a family living in Widner, Knox Co. Indiana in the 1860 Census named Charles and Margaret Chambers with Cross Roads as the town. This Charles was born in 1832 in Kentucky. They have a child named Nancy. I could not locate this family in the 1970 Census but they reappear in 1880 in Smith, Greene with Nancy now 22 and a son, Charles 12. By 1880 my Charles had died.

My Charles was in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Civil War. He entered the 51st Regime of the Indiana Infantry on 22 Oct. 1861 as a private for 3 years. He was captured at the battle of Lookout Mountain in Tennessee. He was held in Libby Prison until the war was over. He was discharged 17 Dec 1864 at Nashville, Tennessee. His discharge papers indicate that his age was 28 at this time, making 1836 as his year of birth. . It also indicates that he was born in Knox Co. Indiana. However, the 1970 Census makes his date of birth 1831. Margaret?s date of birth is consistently 1835. In the 1870 Census Charles, Margaret, Althea and Everett were living in Freelandville, IN.

On 8 Jan 1870, a neighbor, Henry and Joanna Heithecker, sold a small plot of land on their farm in Freelandville, Widner, Knox Co for $1.00 and respect for the dead to Charles Chambers to be designated as the Keith Graveyard. I have a copy of the deed with coordinates but family members in Indiana have not been successful in locating this piece of property. It was received for the record on 3 Feb 1870 and is recorded as a Warrant Deed in Record K, book 2, page 394. I do not know why it was designated as the Keith graveyard and not the Chambers graveyard.

Charles was living in Freelandville, Widner, Knox Co., Indiana with his family. In 1870, this included his son, Edward Everett Chambers, born 22 December 1867. Everett was my great grandfather on my mother?s side and I had the pleasure of knowing him since he lived until 1953 when I was 17 years old.

According to family records, Charles Chambers was struck by lightning on 05 Feb 1871 and subsequently died from a heart attach. Is it possible to find an obituary? This does not seem like an everyday occurrence.

I can not locate Margaret or the children in 1880 Census but she is living with her widowed daughter, Althea Thompson in Harrison, Vigo in 1900 Census. She had married in 1882 and her husband, Wm. H. Thompson was deceased before the 1900 Census. They had 4 living children.
Everett, my great grandfather married Mary Celeste Armstrong on 22 Mar 1889 in Grant, Greene Co., IN.

Margaret died in Worthington, IN in 1921.

Census information indicates she was born in 1886 or 1887. Her childrens birth certificates indicate she was born in Illinois. A 1900 census from Butler County has her listed as Uliss Vowels? Perhaps a transcription error?

was married to lula french had one son, tom ted jones 1n 1926/ married leola campbell in the early 30's they had four daughters, nancy jerldine 1935,billie jean 1937 ,yvonne cornelia 1939, all in wichita falls. also had joanne in 1942 location unknown. All of the people mentioned above had many children, tom married my mom in nm in 1953 and had the rest of us. He was born in jan. 1906/1907. his parents were obie/obie/abie/ jones anmd nanny young. He had brothers named joe, sam and sisters named bess and adaline. they were from aroung fort worth, texas. Everyone in the family who knows anything has long passed away. Have you heard of anyone listed above?

Description: Looking for parents of Thomas McClain Cooper. His approx date of birth is 1765. We know that he died in 1864 from an article that was done on his granddaughter in 1930 when she was 90 years old.
