The Almeda family originated in Binan, Laguna, a provincial town in the Philippines. My Great-Grandfather was Mariano Almeda, a witty lawyer and judge Born in the late 1890s, Mariano was intelligent and determined. He finished his career as assistant director of the National Bureau of Investigation (The Philippine Version of the FBI). My Great-Grandmother was born in 1907 in Bataan, another province in the Philippines. A supporting housewife, Valeriana was supportive and hardworking for her husband. As life went on, they bore two sons (Berto and Mariano Jr.) and two daughters (Dely and Carmen). Berto (My Grandfather who is actually still alive) was a government career-service contributor who has worked and retired from the Bureau of Immigration after a whopping 43 years. He married my grandmother, Lili, who bore Danilo, Delphin, Donato (my dad!), Susan, Lamberto Jr., Lourdes (Lulu - now living in San Bruno), Teresa, and Mariano III. Mariano Jr. (My grandfather who passed away at the age of 39 from a heart attack) worked for the Bureau of Internal Revenue. He married Josephina. Eventually, they were graced with two children: Nerissa and Val. On the daughter side, Dely was a medical doctor (Still alive and well) and migrated to the USA inRaymond Philip Camus Almeda
