It is possible that the Bigios were expelled from Spain in 1492 and traveled on to Italy before arriving in Aleppo, Syria and later in Cairo, Egypt.After leaving Egypt, many of the Bigios emigrated to Haiti, and from there fanned out all over the Americas, including Colombia, Venezuela, the United States, Brazil and Peru.
