. James b1812 Appledore, Kent,married Margaret Handlen 8 December 1830 in Trois Rivieres, Canada. A son Thomas was born in 1833 Lower Quebec Canada. In 1849 James, Margaret & Thomas came to Australia on the Cornwall from Gravesend. Thomas married Margaret Hall nee Aitchison in 1854 and they all lived at Raymond Terrace (outskirts of Newcastle) where they owned 3 of the towns hotels.\r\n\r\nThomas & Margaret had 4 children (with Margaret having 3 children from a previous marriage - 2 surviving), Eliza b 1859 being my great grandmother. |
