I am John Paul Bailey, the 12th of 13 children of Ben and Sarah (LOVELY) BAILEY. I was born in Rousseau, Breathitt County, Kentucky in 1949. My ancestors migrated from Virginia and North Carolina, primarily to the Eastern Kentucky counties of Letcher, Breathitt and Magoffin (Floyd)in the late 1700's and early 1800's. The MCCORDs migrated to Marshall County Iowa in the mid-1800's from Michigan and other eastern states, via Indiana. The LEX and STEIL families migrated to America in the early 1900's from Bavaria, Luxembourg and similar locales in Europe to Iowa and Wisconsin. |

My GGGGrand-father was William Neale Atkinson born 1813 Liverpool, Lancaster, England. Married Catharine Boscow 1838 Braddan Parish, Isle of Man, England. Immigrated Buffalo NY 1839. Then to Quincy IL in 1840-1850. Died Quincy IL 1855. Catharine's family was also from Liverpool, England. My Great Grand-father Keaton James Wright and wife Dilla Dito Shaw Wright. They married and lived in Haskell county Texas and had 12 children. My GGGGGGGGrand-father was Thomas Brown from the William Penn Colony to my grandfather William Mitchell Brown Jr. Patrick Marion Munn my grandmothers father. Patrick Munn's GGGGGrandfather was Alexander McAlpine Munn of Scotland B1720 D1776. My Grandfather William Maginnis was born in Gatehouse of Fleet, Scotland circa 1868. He was born to Owen and Margaret Cole Maginnis. He emigrated to the United States (Philadelphia, PA) in the 1890's. He married Rose Anne Devinney of County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, probably during the 1890's or early 1900's. They had five children: Annie who was born and died in 1907, Mary and Margaret who were Sisters of St. Joseph, Chestnut Hill, PA, Joseph, and John. All members of the family are now deceased. Rose was a servant on the Main Line of Philadelphia until she had children and William worked for the railroad. Rose died in 1937 and William passed away in 1944 at the age of 75. Agins-Originally Aginsky from Russia. Abraham(1871-1936) was married to Rose Hurwich(1879-1959) and entered the US through Boston, MA.They were from Russia with Rose coming from Odessa. They initially lived in Gardner,MA and latter moved to Springfield, MA. Eventually to Brooklyn, NY. They had four children:Lillian, Evelyn, Albert and Irving. Paternal grandparents also came to US-Solomon and Bayle. Both died in 1917.\r\n\r\n\r\nSaltzer-Samuel was from Kovno, Lithuania and first moved to Manchester, England at the age of 13. There he met Dora Hyman. He maried her when she was 18 years old and left the next day for the United State. First lived in ST. Louis, MO, then moving to Newark,NJ and finally to Brooklyn,NY.They had four children: Celia, Alice, Florence and Jerome. His grandfather was Rabbi Issac Elchanan Specktor. The Chief Rabbi of Kovno, Lithuania.\r\nHis brother Itzhok and Nathan had their names changed to Seltzer when the arrived in USA by the immigration people. They even changed Itzhok to Joseph. They lived in Ohio and Boston, MA.\r\n\r\nHyman-Dora's family included many siblings:Samuel, Sol, Sara,Harry, Lippman and Joseph.
