Aongus was the pre-Celtic god of love, and son of the Dagda, the main deity of of the ancient Irish peoples, who had his residence at the tumulus of Newgrange, at Br? na B?innne, in county Meath, just north of Dublin. The name "Aongus" itself translates as "one choice".
