William W. Avery (1821/1894) settled in the Seneca Falls, New York area in the late 1830's. William came to this country from Kent Co. England. He married Susannah Gilbert (1814/1892) about 1840. They had 8 children, 3 boys and 5 girls (Mary, Emeline, Louisa, William Henry, Clarissa, Hannah and A. Charles). All were born in the home they built in Seneca Falls. William Henry (1846/1925), my great grandfather moved to Winona, Minnesota where he owed the WINONA SHIRT AND SHIRT WAIST FACTORY which he operated from 1894 to about 1904.
