The John Rutherford Allen Family
My Allen Family first appears in Maysville, KY (old Limestone) in Mason County about 1775. The patriarch was Hugh Allen, whose sons, Hugh Jr. and John eventually moved to the Centerville, OH area about 1811. In Centerville and Washington Township, OH, the Allens married into the Kelsey and Kindle Families. I am also descended from the Larew Family of Augusta County, Virginia; the Adair and Qua Families of St. Lawrence and Washington Counties, New York; and the DuMontier and Rochambeau Families of Montreal. From Ireland, I am descended from the Rutherford Family from Belfast (arrived in the US about 1870) and the McKnight Family from Bangor, County Down, N. Ireland which arrived about 1870 as well. On my wife's side, we are related to the Glickert (Gloikert or Glo:ikert) Family of St Louis; the Aubuchon Family of Montreal and St Louis, arriving in Canada from France about 1640; the Jolliffe Family of Virginia, arriving in Norfolk from England about 1660; the Dragoo Family of Virginia, arriving from France about 1680; and the Batchelder Family of New Hampshire. \r\n

Descendents of James Adair of Ballynahinch, County Down
I am looking for one James M Adair, born in Pa c. 1820. Migrated to Wayne Co, OH c. 1825 and dissapeared after Census of 1850. He had a twin brother Thomas who remained in Wayne Co for life.\r\nThe puzzle of proving early Adairs in County Down Ireland is my current area of study. I am attempting to unravel the mystery of my William Adair, who by his naturalization papers left Ballynahinch, County Down, shortly after the Rebellion of 1798. He was followed by sons Patrick and James Clelland Adair in 1803. They settled near Connellsville, Fayette Co PA. Patrick migrated to Wayne Co Ohio where his branch has stayed. James C Adair and his family left PA after 1830, migrated along the Ohio River and ended up in Jay Co, Indiana.\r\n\r\nRobert E Adair - InterneTree\r\n
ADAMS ADAIR CHAMBERS SHAIFFER RHINEHART WALLACE GENEALOGY
All of the names I am researching lived at one time in North Louisiana. Most of them originated in Catahoula Parish. Some migrated to Shreveport and others to Arkansas. Others stayed in the Central Louisiana area. The Chambers lived in Marthaville, Natchitoches Parish, then moved to East Texas, Shreveport, and southern Arkansas. I am looking for the Shaiffers. They seemed to disappear into thin air after leaving Catahoula Parish. Some of the Adairs moved to the Shreveport-Bossier area. \r\nPartriarch Joseph Adair settled in East Carroll Parish where Joe's Bayou flowed into Bayou Macon. At one time, Joseph also lived in Concordia Parish. His children were John, David, Martha, Sidney, Sarah, and a daughter who was suspected to have been kidnapped by Indians when an infant. She was the first born. \r\nJohn's children were Johnathan Marion, Mary Malinda, James, Richard Harding, Thomas, and William.\r\nJohnathan's children were Martha Euretta, Marshall Newman, Richard Randolph, Johnathan F., and Mary Malinda.\r\nMartha Euretta m. The Lee, Peddicord, Eustace, and Davenport families all at some time lived in Virginia. The Lee's are supposed to be descended from Col. Richard Lee. The Wells and Plemmons Families lived mostly in North Carolina. I have a book about the Plemmons family that says they are descended from a man named Jacob Plehman who came to america from Ireland in 1749. The problem is I am not sure I am related to this branch of the family so any information would be helpful. The Adair and Hewes lived in West Virginia and Maryland.

The Adairs were among the oldest families of Graves county, KY. They originally came from Ireland and settled in one of the Atlantic States a number of years before the war of the Revolution. The family originally settled in South Carolina where James Adair distinguished himself in the war of Independance as a member of the celebrated Marion's band. Late in life he settled in Alabama, where he died in about the year of 1839 or 40. His son, John Adair married Margaret Wilson and came to Graves county, KY in 1830.\r\nSome of the Adairs went to Temple, OK.\r\n

Researching surnames ADAIR, HARRILL, LENEAR, and SHERRILL in SC , NC, GA, MS, KY & IRL. Surnames BEACH/BEECH, FRYE, KEMPKER, MARSHALL, MIKESELL, PARK, in OK, OH, PA & IRL. I am descended from Alexander Adair, b:1750 in Antrim, IRL, m: Mary Anne Steele and migrated to Laurens Co. SC. around 1770. My main focus at this time is trying to locate information on siblings and ancestors of Alexander in Ireland, and to determine if other siblings migrated to this country, possibly to PA, and eventually joined him in SC. Many Adair's lived in Laurens County before and during time of Alexander, and I can\t find a common link. \r\n
Richard Harding Adair and Elizabeth Adair
Richard and Lizzie started their family in Louisiana right after the Civil War. They eventually migrated and settled in Johnson County, Texas. Circumstantial evidence indicates that Richard's father was Jonathan Adair, married to Malinda O\Neal, but I have not confirmed that. I believe that his parents died right after he was born; he is found in the household of Richard Harding and Sidney Adair, 1850 census of Claiborne Co., MS.
