descendants of Ulrich Bachmann (1610) of Lauperswil, Signau District, Berne Canton, Switzerland. Ulrich's son Nicholas (1633) emigrated to Hirschland, Alsace, France about 1650. Nicholas' grandson Jacob (1704) emigrated to Pennsylvania in 1753, arriving at Philadelphia on September 14, 1753 aboard the Ship Edinberg. Jacob (1704) settled in Weisenberg Township, Lehigh county, Pennsylvania. Around 1800, descendants of Jacob (1704) migrated to other counties of Pennsylvania and to Ohio and beyond. |
Family Roots
My family tree is primarily Bukovina German descendants who settled in Ellis, Kansas, Oregon, Washington State and Canda. My husbands family has been in the United States for many years, with some lines going back into the colonies. Families orginated in England, France, Holland, Italy and Norway. |
